Although it is already March the lakes around Gothenburg are
still frozen enough to walk on. On a lake called Landvettersjön I've
met some guys who were ice fishing.

They drilled out a hole with around 20-30 cm diameter and
installed some kind of self made fishing rod and were sitting
around a fire on the beach waiting until a fish bites.

The hole and the "fisher rod" which was built by the guys...

 

There were around 15 holes on this lake!!!

 

When a fish is caught and he pulls on the rope, the red signal
jumps up and the guys at the beach see that they've got one.

 

There is a light on this "fishing rod" that illuminates when a
fish pulls the rope!

 

Mmmmhhh... these pike look really good :-)
